How early do I have to book my tour?
The sooner the better! But in case you decide last minute that you would like to do a sightseeing flight then give us a call +3548544105 and we will do our best to accommodate you.
How much does a tour cost?
We have a wide range of amazing tours from 3 different locations. If you are uncertain of what tour you should take, you are more than welcome to call or email us and we will gladly assist you.
Can we open the windows on a standard tour?
No, it is not possible to open windows on a standard tour. Open windows are only allowed on a private flight or specialized photo flights. To book a private flight or photo flight please send us an email and we will be happy to assist you.
Can we see any active volcanoes?
We do not have any erupting volcanoes in Iceland at the moment. When there is an eruption we make specific tours to go see them. Please visit our webpage or our Facebook page to see the latest news.

Booking process

I am travelling solo, how can I join a tour?
If you are travelling on your own, please contact us through email to let us know the dates you are available to join a tour and we will do our best to pair you together with another group. If you have a specific time you would prefer to fly with us at, please mention it in the booking comments or let us know by writing an email.
I am not able to book online and cannot understand why, can you help me?
Either the tour is fully booked or you are booking a tour with less than the minimum number of passengers. Please send us an email and we will gladly assist you.

Which type of aircraft do you operate?

Cessna 207 with 5 passenger seats and 3 openable windows.
Piper Navajo with 7 passenger seats and 1 openable window.
Piper Chieftain with 9 passenger seats.

Which type of aircraft do you use for photo flights?
We most commonly use the Cessna 207 which is considered highly suitable for this line of work. It has 3 openable windows, high wings and room for up to 3 passengers at a time during photo flights.

How do I get to your location?

Our Reykjavík location is at Reykjavík Domestic Airport Terminal 2 at Nauthólsvegur. GPS co-ordinates: 64°07’46.0″N 21°55’57.0″W

At Bakki we are located on the south coast of Iceland. The best way to get there is to drive on road nr. 1 and turn off to road nr. 253. GPS co-ordinates: 63°33’30.9″N 20°08’46.5″W

Skaftafell is our own private airport. The best way to get there is to drive on road nr. 1 and turn off the road to the opposite side of Skaftafell National Park. GPS co-ordinates: 64°00’10.7″N 16°56’29.4″W

Do you offer pick up service?
No, unfortunately we do not offer pick up service. But we have info on how to get here in the previous question.

Bad weather and cancellations

What is the cancellation policy?

All cancellations must be made by letter, fax or e-mail and confirmed by Atlantsflug. We are obliged to charge cancellation fees to passenger(s) as follows:

Less than 2 weeks and more than 72 hours – 10%

Less than 72 hours and more than 24 hours – 50%

Less than 24 hours – 100%

With your safety in mind we reserve the right to cancel a tour or change the itinerary due to weather conditions and/or any other factors beyond our control.

What happens if I have already paid for the flight and the weather is unsuitable for the tour?


If the weather forecast is not looking promising at the time of your booked tour we:
A) Try to change the time on the same day (e.g. go in the afternoon instead of the morning).
B) Offer you to go on a different date (e.g. the day before or the day after).
C) Try to change the location of the flight (e.g. go from Bakki airport instead of Reykjavík).
 If we are fully booked and can not offer options A, B or C we always give a full refund!
